Four Ways to be Mindful During the Coronavirus Outbreak

Coronavirus has impacted everyone in the whole world.  Never before has the world experienced such a huge challenge and it affects every area of life.  Not only does it stop us seeing our family and friends, but the children also can’t go to school, university life is disrupted, we no longer can just pop out to meet a friend for a glass of wine, our shopping habits have changed and without hairdressers and beauty salons, keeping on top of a beauty regime is a tough call!  Of course, health must always come first but all those little things that we took for granted can also affect mental health.  That means looking after your wellbeing is of huge importance and looking out for others.  Read the Satinboutique guide to being mindful during the COVID-19 outbreak and please stay well.

  • Make Sure You Get to Relax

If you’re stuck at home with the children and your partner, you probably find that you’re running around doing more than ever before in the house!  You need to keep it clean, cook up meals and you’re constantly tidying up.  Plus, kids argue and it’s difficult to entertain them for the 12 hours they’re awake!  More than ever before, schedule time to just slow down.  Take a warm bubble bath, light a candle, dim the lights, put on a fluffy eye mask and sink into the comfort of the scented water.  Listen to music or read that book you’ve promised yourself for ages.  Take a good half an hour to regroup and when you’ve finished bathing, slather your body with our delicious Coochy Body Oil mist in Botanical Blast, it’s moisturizing and smells divine, keeping your skin nice and hydrated for longer: https://satin-boutique.com/collections/body-bath/products/coochy-body-oil-mist-4-oz-botanical-blast

  • Look After Others

Your family comes first but there are neighbors that will appreciate a helping hand.  When you help others you feel good too, there’s something really satisfying offering a lending hand.  Yes, our movements are restricted at the moment but put a note in the letterboxes on your street offering help with groceries, prescriptions or just a friendly voice at the end of the telephone.  Another good idea is to set up a local WhatsApp group so everyone can pitch in and help each other out with groceries, advice or just knowing someone else is there!

  • Sleep Well

This is easy to say but for many people, sleep is difficult to achieve especially when you’re concerned.  If you can’t sleep, the most important thing to do is not to panic.  Panicking won’t relax your body so just lie quietly and think about nicer times, don’t think about sleep – you’ll still be resting your body.  Alternatively, get up and do a chore to tire you out, some people prefer to actually do something rather than lie in bed, sleepless.  Always start your bedtime routine without any electronics as they hinder sleep.  Switch off your iPhone and tablet at least half an hour before bed.  Have that warm bath (above), drink something milky (avoid tea and coffee), spray some lavender onto your pillow because this induces sleep naturally and indulge yourself in something super-soft and silky to sleep in.  This Roma Elegant Pajama Set is gorgeous next to the skin: https://satin-boutique.com/collections/pajamas/products/roma-rm-li225-elegant-pajama-set and get some new bedding that you can’t wait to slip into!  Our 95% silk bed sets are ideal and they pretty much guarantee a good night sleep, in the luxurious comfort of course: https://satin-boutique.com/collections/duvet-sets-silk-satin/products/luxury-silk-duvet-bedding-sets-95-pure-silk-5-fine-cotton

  • Have some Bedroom Fun!

After another groundhog day – what do you do?  Yes, we suggest that nice warm bath and some luxurious nightwear in a delicious bed but before you go to sleep why not have some grown-up fun?  Finding time to enjoy yourself in a world of uncertainty is really important for positive mental wellbeing. If you’ve never tried a sex toy, this is definitely the time for it!  You don’t have the pressure of jumping out of bed early in the morning to take the kids to school or to get to the office (unless you’re a key worker) so indulge yourself and have a really sensual night with your partner.  If there’s ever a time to re-connect it’s now, so re-awaken your naughty side and get to grips with something different.  Shop our sex toy range here: https://satin-boutique.com/collections/luxury-toys
